Defense Health Headquarters - Falls Church

The 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission mandated the contiguous campus after an extensive and exhaustive review process that included months of public hearings, expert testimony, and intensive impact studies.
 
The DHHQ was mandated to colocate the following offices on a single campus:
 
        • DoD Office of Health Affairs (HA), excluding positions housed in the Pentagon
        • TRICARE Management Activity (TMA)
        • U.S. Army Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG)
        • U.S. Air Force Surgeon General’s Office (HAF-SG)
        • U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine (BUMED)
 
The new Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ) campus is located in Falls Church, Virginia right off the Route 50 exit of the 495 beltway.  The DHHQ campus lies about 8 miles northeast of the Mark Center Complex in Alexandria and about 8 miles west of the Pentagon in Arlington. 

Nearby cities include Springfield and Annandale to the south, Burke, to the southwest, Oakton to the west by about 5 miles, then further west Chantilly and Centreville around 14 miles or so, and Tysons Corner and McLean just north of the campus.
